Session 12 - April 18, 2021

Page history last edited by Bolthy 3 years ago

It is Monday, June 26. We just returned with Seamus and are keeping watch on him. The Bellingham chantry has asked the group deliver him up there.

They chantry suspects that Ruby took stuff when she left, including a stack of files. One of which was about Astrid. The file was relatively recent, but seemed to have had files about all the former members of the chantry.

A bunch of Hermetics have come up from Seattle to have a tribunal regarding Ruby.

Astrid feels a presence in her brain, and it appears to be the demon Lord Z. Astrid excuses herself to the bathroom. He is willing to help look for Ruby. For a cost. She says she doesn't need his service, but might need later.

Astrid tells Lord Z more than he ever wanted to know about Gremlins.

The tribunal occurs, but the group doesn't have any role to contribute to it, so they head back to Seattle. Astrid catches Hugo and Tamara up on the demon's offer.

They get back and Jada has a job for them in North Bend where there is a faith healer who has also attracted attention from the Catholic church.

Tamara dresses like Dale Cooper.

On Tuesdaythey head out.

Danielle Bridges is the faith healer. After a bit of poking around, they find an address for Danielle and head out to the rural route. Parked in front is a big white van that says "Church of Christ."

Magically scanning, there are 15 living beings, 3 of them are dogs. The other 12 seem to be human. No major surges of power. Some of the humans are not in great physical condition. The van appears to be associated with some "women's group".

You need an appointment, and so the group has to come back at 2. They get underwhelming coffee and pie at the Mar-T.

At the appointment, they talk to her husband a little bit bit. While scanning around, they notice a shift of life force being moved from one person or another.

They talk to Danielle and fish around for information without a whole lot of success. She's human, has some sort of aura overlaying her own, and does not seem to be deceiving the group. She is uncomfortable when mention of "recharging" coming. Growing up, they moved around a lot. Her mom is apparently 80, she is 20, so that doesn't add up.

As the group starts to give up on ideas, Astrid's entropy sense detected a whole lot of human bones in an upstairs room. That freaks Danielle out and they are asked to leave.

As they depart, and old woman looks menacingly out the window at them. Tamara tries to scry on the place as they leave but feels blocked, and then a psychic presence tries to bust into her brain.

As they stop at a pay phone and call Jada, the North Bend police hassle them. One of the cops has the surname of "Bridges".

Hugo does some research online and comes up with theories involving hedge magic, possession, succubi.

Tamara does a ritual to look back in time. Right after they left, the Bridges freaked out and talked about moving or responding with violence. Rewinding further, it looks like the energy transfer involved the mother and daughter getting into boxes made of bone to do the transfer. The mother's eyes look younger than her 80-year-old face. Flipping forward, it looks like it was the mom that tried to do the whammy on Tamara.

Tamara shares info with Hugo and Astrid. They meet up to share drawings Tamara made of the bone boxes, the sigils, etc. Tamara couldn't recognize it, but Astrid recognizes it as Ogham. The writing says something about "two lives one." It's reminiscent of Dagda's Cauldron.

Deciding that they are fundamentally benign, the group meets with the Bridges the next day at the Overlake Denny's. They offer to help the Bridges increase their magical (and mundane) security. From there they intend to look into the Inquisition being in town.
