Session 2 - April 19, 2020

Page history last edited by Bolthy 3 years, 11 months ago

Game opens March 25, 1995 Saturday

The group is called in to investigate a problem involving a man's goldfish. They confirm that it is not a child, and that it is a 30-something adult man named Robbie Valentino. His apartment is above the Pike Place Market in "Senior Living". It turns out his "fish" is one of the seahorse/pirrhanas that the group had dealt with previously. He got it from an "exotic fish" vendor in the Market. It ate the other fish it came with. (He is also living in his deceased grandmother's apartment.)

The guy provides a tupperware to transport the thing, and Hugo uses Matter to reinforce it. Tamara notices that there is a temporal anomoly with the tank, which came from a thrift shop.

They get the fish out of the tank without issue and empty the tank to transport it.

On the way out, they swing by the Exotic Fish shop and check it out. Nothing registers as weird to the group's occult senses. They question the owner and he says he hasn't sold any goldfish recently, and his receipt book reflects this.

Tamara makes psychic contact with a fish and a turtle but gets no answers that are helpful.

The group heads back to the shop, and Tamara and Gunny make psychic contact with "Bitey". It can communicate that it's from the "shoal".

Franky examines the fish tank's spiritual energy and there's something weird that can't be classified. Using Prime, Frankie and Hugo had magical workings on it but not exactly Sphere magic. After comparing notes, the group concludes that this is probably the work of a Marauder.

The number Robbie gave reaches Pagliacci Pizza. The group goes back, and finds no sign of Robbie. It was as though he was never in the apartment.

Time jump to March 28, a Tuesday.

Dr. Dunn called to alert the group that there had been a break-in at the lab. Though she didn't technically hire the group, they wouldn't turn down help. Rolling back time, the group can see a janitor with obscured face and a name badge that says "Virgil." He dumps the notebooks into a trashbag, rolls his janitor cart out, and turns into the winged demon thing. Hugo is able to identify it as the same Maurader that mojoed the fish tank.

Astrid uses probability magic to track the demon thing to Yarrow Bay wetlands, where it leaves the plane of existence. The group goes to investigate and the place is weird. To Tamara past, present, and future is comingling. Gunny notices that there's a lack of wildlife. Hugo examines the magical landscape and it looks like a terrifying weather map with a horrible red spot in one part of the park.

The group wanders into the awfulness. A femme voice confronts them and advises them to leave. The voice, who identifies as the Lady of the Woods, says that the marauder (Vincent) is an agent of the Lady who wishes to spread her spawn into the human realm. The spawn destroys all life within the realm they enter.
