Session 6 - September 6, 2020

Page history last edited by Bolthy 3 years, 7 months ago

June 1, Thursday

Tamara does a flashback to the "men in black" showing up at her parents' place. They flash FBI badges. There are three agents, one of which does all the talking. When they leave, they move in unison seeming almost robotic. When they get in the car, one of them presses a button inside the car. When they get out of sight of the house there's a ripping/tearing sound. The agents were Agents Crosby, Stills, and Nash.

Hugo gets a response back from Zeromancer. The internal Order of Hermes politics regarding the replacement of the Euthanatos chantry head? The Euthanatos mage was accused of infernal dealings, but was missing, so he was tried in absentia and found guilty. Ms. Marshal is part of House Tytalos.

Frankie has been spreading the word to bring the fringe psychic folk to set up shop outside of the book store. This results in a guantlet of psychic people outside the shop."

One woman, with an earnest look on her face, says to Frankie,  "She's trying really hard." Then she looks away, distracted, as though she forgot what she was saying.

Frankie tries to insert a subliminal impulse into the woman's thought to get her to explain. The woman's eyes glaze over and she says, "I wish I had more message to give you." They don't know who the "her" is. The message was just floating around, waiting to be caught.

Tamara scries on the men in suits and learns they are from the FUTURE. They are in a non-descript office with several others, filling out paperwork. They have name plates on their desks with their names in some strange characters.

The group conveges on the book shop. Tamara shows around her transcription of the strange characters, but the best idea is "Sumerian...?"

Hugo works on translating his Greek book. It's written weirdly, but some of it seems familiar and goes into weird digressions. It's possible that there are two texts intertwined. There is a reference to a Φραντζέσκα (Frantzeska)

Tamara reaches out to Achyuta to see if he knows anything about Sumerian or future cops. He does know Sumerian, nothing about future cops. He says he'll head over in the direction of the shop and she will leave a copy of the transcript of the characters.

She looks into a book on Sumerian, and the characters look similar but don't seem to be an exact match. She calls Derek and he also doesn't know much about future cops or time travel.

From Astrid helping out, the characters do look closer to Enochian than Sumerian.

Frankie tries to use Entropy to find random books that will help with one of these problems. She obtains See Dick Run, a fashion magazine, and a game sourcebook.

By pooling resources, the group is able to get the best results from Enochian for the name plate and get the name Joahc.

Hugo is able to piece out the two texts. One is Corpus Hermeticum, an occult text book, and a transcription of a conversation between two people who seem to be talking about "Frantzeska."

Achyuta shows up and confirms that it's an old and obsucre version of Enochian. Tamara is able to math out that the physical location for the future office is in Tacoma.

Tamara's cop contact, Moira McConnelly, calls to let Tamara know that the same FBI agents were asking about Tamara. Moira offers to run the badge numbers but it can be a few days.

Hugo emails his Order of Hermes for more information about the Enochian. Achyuta finds a book that says Joahc was the name of a great scholar.

Later in the day, across the street, a well-dressed man and woman are watching the store and the impromptu street fair that has sprung up around it. They don't seem to be supernatural, just judgy. Tamara tries to go and talk to them, and they double time it away toward a slow moving cop car. She tries jogging after them but is hit with an asthma attack.

The couple talk to the cops, and the cops come up to the street fair. Astrid is able to provide a permit for the street fair and the cops leave. Just then, someone starts screaming about "She just wants to talk to you. Why can't she talk to you? I need to let Francesca know. Frankie!"

The group herds the woman, who was not the same person earlier, into the shop. She comes down as the group gets her into a break area. Astrid lingers to collect the woman's blanket where she's been selling refurbished dolls.

The group relocates to one of the empty furnished apartments. They make psychic contact and the mental presence fixates on Frankie and sounds to Frankie like the voice Frankie associates with her mother.

They have memory of being hit on the head at the base of the Space Needle and is now in a locked room with bars on the window.

Magic shows that they location is 5 miles east of Wymer, Washington. The group drives out to Yakima and spend the night in a motel. (Bali-Hai Motel.) There's a small local grunge band playing in the tiki lounge. The drummer for the band is a vampire that is interested in Tamara, but Astrid cock blocks her.

The next day the group goes to the Yakima County records office. The place does not have a proper address, just on a rural route. It is a former tuberculosis sanitarium. Technically the property is owned by the County.

The group drives out there. Hugo and Tamara have magic senses up, and hit an anti-magic barrier that makes them sick. Studying the effect from the outside, it appears to be faith-based hedge magic. Probably faith-based mage hunters. The group thinks that Frankie and Hugo can unweave the effect, but it will be noticed.

The building is a single-story cinderblock building. There's recent construction with a new polebarn. As they drive past, they spot a sniper on the roof.
